Boil disinfection

Yui Tsuchiya・Sawa Uchida

In the past year, disinfection and sanitization have become more familiar to us and an indispensable part of our daily lives.

This work focuses on boiling disinfection, which has been used for a long time among the many disinfection methods. We also tried to boil some of the things around us that we do not usually boil to disinfect.

However, boiling water has been used for a long time to purify dirt and impurities, as seen in the case of yuban(湯灌: cleansing the corpses), and yutate(湯立:traditional ritual praying for prosperity and health) is still performed nowadays.

While you stare at what is being boiled, you might feel as if the "poison" inherent in it is being purified.

* It is recommended to use earphones or headphones when watching the video.

These boils have "poisons" that we want to disinfect.
It can be a past that we want to forget, a bewildering feeling about something, or an attachment that we cannot let go of.
