Discovering the Intangible

Footprints

Shinnosuke Yamashita

The information society and the development of digital media have increased the presence of virtual reality in human society. Nowadays, human beings are shifting their lives, consciously or unconsciously, to the virtual world created by the electronic space (usually the Internet).

However, there is a problem of loneliness in the current electronic brain space, which is characterized by the lack of a sense that someone has existed diachronically or synchronously.

This work forcibly adds people's footprints to the tasteless electronic brain interface by using images and sounds. Will we ever be able to feel the warmth and presence of people in a world composed of 0 and 1?
